As we move into Q3 2024, here's our pick of the most newsworthy creators on YouTube from the past 3 months...
1, Hardest Geezer's marathon run across Africa

Has anyone done more in the last quarter than Worthing’s finest @hardestgeezer? Being the first person to run the length of Africa takes some doing.
Russ Cook, also known as “The Hardest Geezer”, embarked on his journey in 2023 to run the entire length of Africa, finishing on April 7, 2024. Over 349 days, he ran through 16 countries, facing challenges such as severe weather conditions, and even an armed robbery.
Despite these obstacles, Cook persevered, often covering more than a marathon’s distance each day. He didn’t just run; he actively engaged with local communities and raised over £700,000 for various charities, including WaterAid and Sandblast. Hats off to you Russ.
2, Dude Perfect $100M Deal

Trickshot Youtubers Dude Perfect signed a $100M deal with Highmount Capital in Q2 2024 to help grow their brand and business interests.
The five guys, based in Frisco, Texas, met at university and currently have more than 60M YouTube subscribers.

3, Sidemen Inside project

When creators change the landscape of what’s possible you tip your hat. The Sidemen’s Inside series was a reality show with 10 influencers living together and vying to win a prize fund of up to £1 million.
The show, which saw the contestants set by the Sidemen, was eventually won by Chloe and Manrika, who took home £75k each after deciding to split the prize in the show’s finale.

4, MrBeast - most subscribed YouTube channel

During Q2 2024, MrBeast finally overtook T-Series as the biggest YouTube channel in a long-running battle for the most subscribers. Here’s his post finally avenging long-time #1 Pewdiepie..
Mr Beast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, has been at the top of his game literally for many years. He remains to be a role model for young Youtubers with his work ethic and propensity to try new ideas.
He also recently announced Beast Games, with a $5m (£3.9m) prize - although that will be available on Amazon Prime Video rather than YouTube itself.
5, Taylor Swift's global domination

Global Domination for the World’s Greatest Showman – The Swifties have lapped up all the YouTube content of the ERAS tour during recent months.
The pop star has contributed to her stardom with the recent and highly successful “Eras Tour” in Europe. Taylor Swift has demonstrated significant gratitude towards her tour staff by distributing bonuses totalling $55 million.
Additionally, the singing sensation has made numerous charitable contributions throughout her career. These include donations to wildfire victims, support for music education programs, and funding for anti-sexual assault organisations, reflecting her widespread philanthropy that has positively impacted many individuals globally.
What’s Next?
Its look like Q3 2024 is gonna be about sports (Euros, Olympics) and politics (National Elections). We’ve already seen some interesting results in early Q3 so watch this space.
